“Who would believe that a rebel with a scarred heart like Ozzy Osbourne would cry in front of the world?” Remember When Jelly Roll Honored Ozzy Osbourne at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? The night was meant to celebrate the Prince of Darkness, but no one expected what came next. When Jelly Roll stepped on stage and poured every ounce of soul into his tribute, the arena froze in silence. Then, in a twist that stunned millions, even a wild, untamed legend like Ozzy Osbourne — a man who built his life on rebellion and chaos — was seen wiping away tears. The performance wasn’t just music; it was raw truth, a bridge between two generations of outlaws. Fans still whisper about that moment, calling it one of the most emotional Hall of Fame inductions in rock history.

On October 19, 2024, Ozzy Osbourne was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame alongside Mary J. Blige, Jimmy Buffett, Foreigner, Alexis Korner, John Mayall, MC5, Suzanne DePasse, Big Mama Thornton, Dionne Warwick, Norman Whitfield, Dave Matthews Band, Cher, Peter Frampton, Kool & The Gang, and A Tribe Called Quest.

Each legendary artist was honored with a speech, a video package, and a live performance.

Chad Smith, Robert Trujillo, Adam Weggman, Andrew Watt, Billy Idol, Steve Stevens, Zakk Wylde, Jelly Roll, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Tony Iommi, and Wolfgang Van Halen were just a few of the people who were there to pay tribute to Ozzy.

The second song in the tribute was sung by Jelly Roll, who gave a passionate rendition of “Mama, I’m Coming Home.”

While Jelly Roll’s performance was not well received by fans, it’s clear just being there to honor one of his heroes meant so much to the “Save Me” singer.

Right after Jelly Roll got off stage, he took to X and wrote, “That was crazy – anyone got a video of me honoring Ozzy.”

Not long after, he reposted two photos that Ozzy posted of all the people who honored him that evening, writing, “Thank you all,” alongside a peace sign.

Ozzy Was Inducted Into The Hall Twice

Not many people can say they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame once, let alone twice.

In 2024, Ozzy joined the shortlist of musicians who are in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice, though only one person has been inducted three times: Eric Clapton. He is in the Hall as a member of The Yardbirds, Cream, and as a solo artist.

Ozzy was first inducted in 2006 with his legendary heavy metal band Black Sabbath, 11 years after they became eligible, and was finally inducted as a solo artist in 2024, though he was first eligible in 2005.

Ozzy joined the ranks of Stevie Nicks, Paul Simon, Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, Neil Young, Tina Turner, Dave Grohl, Rod Stewart and 18 others as two-time members of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
