OPM Singer Hajji Alejandro dies at the age of 70 and here’s that statement from his family following this sad news.

Hajji was considered as one of the icons in the Philippine music industry. With his moniker “Kilabot ng mga Koheliyala,” he was known for the “kilig” vibes he gave when performing his love songs.

Throughout his career as a singer, he has released remarkable songs that still lingers in the hearts of his fans, even the younger generation. Among the most popular songs he released was Nakapagtataka, revived by his daughter singer-actress Rachel Alejandro.

The sad news about the OPM icon circulated on April 21. It was reported that he died after battling cancer. In March, Hajji’s longtime girlfriend, Alynna, spoke about the singer’s health condition.

Hajji Alejandro dies at 70 and this saddened the entertainment industry and the fans who had been supporting his career. Messages of sympathy and support poured over Hajji’s family. His daughter, Barni Alejandro shared emotional posts featuring the late singer. Barni even shared her rendition of Hajji’s song ‘Ang lahat ng ito’y para Sa ‘yo.’

Rachel’s manager, released a statement in behalf of the Alejandro Family. In a Facebook post, journalist Ruben Nepales shared the statement from Hajji’s family.

“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad and Son, Angelito “Hajji” T. Alejandro,” the family stated.

Hajji’s loved ones also asked for privacy during this sad moment in their family. “At this time, we kindly ask for privacy as our family grieves this tremendous loss. We appreciate your understanding and support during this difficult time,” the Alejandro family said.

Prior to Hajji’s death, two icons of the entertainment industry also passed away. Asia’s Queen of Song Pilita Corrales died on April 12 while Superstar and National Artist for Film Nora Aunor passed away on April 16.
