Aiza Seguerra vows to continue fight against bashers and bullies
Aiza Seguerra: If someone you love is being bullied, will you just let it go?
Singer Aiza Seguerra defended her husband Liza Dino from her bashers.
This was after Liza expressed her opinion on Facebook about the ongoing killings that most people immediately attributed to drugs. Because of this, some netizens criticized Liza, and some even said obscene words.
But the actress immediately hit back at these bashers.
Aiza’s statement regarding the issue, “Maybe, bashing is normal at our work. I’ve been experiencing that since I was [just] young.
“There was no social media, I have been bashed left and right because of who I am, because of my preference, gender identity.”
However, according to her, it’s a different story when it’s her husband who is being told hurtful words.
“Most of us who have wives would understand. They’ll leave me alone, I don’t care.
“But when it comes to my wife, I guess that’s the only thing I can’t handle because, somehow, I feel responsible because she chose to be with me.
“And maybe, at the same time, I’ve also been purged from always being told that I don’t care.
“Really, if someone you love is being bullied, do you just let it go?
“Like if someone you care about is being bullied like that, do you just let it go?
“I mean, there will be more and more people like that because they hide on Facebook, eh.
“If I have to name them, I will name them.
“If I have to expose their appearance, I will because we should learn accountability.”
At this point, the 32-year-old singer-actor seemed to be getting nervous, but he remained calm.
Aiza added, “Yes, we’re all for freedom, but freedom comes with responsibility and accountability.
“If you don’t know how to be responsible and accountable for your actions, I don’t think you deserve that freedom, I’m sorry.”
Aiza spoke to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other reporters at the media launch of the MMK 25 commemorative album, where she was one of the performers, on Tuesday, August 2.
NOT AFRAID OF SHOWING LOVE. Aiza also said that bashers won’t stop them from showing how much they love each other on social media.
She laughed and said, “We will especially show you how much we love each other [until] you are exhausted! We don’t care.
“There are ten people who will mock us, we can only inspire two of them to come out, let them say, ‘Because of Aiza and Liza, I have become strong, my heart is still strong even if there are people mocking me. I would still come out, I will be who I am.’
“That’s enough for me.”
Aiza added, “And maybe earlier, when I also wrote about that, it’s just my way of telling people being bullied to stand up for themselves.
“Don’t let it happen.
“And to the family of the bullied, don’t let it happen to the people you love.
“There are many crooks in the world, many evil people, but if all the good people, we don’t stand up with each other and for each other, they will win.”
It’s also not unknown to most that the couple is planning to go abroad to have children.
A reporter asked if they were also prepared for the criticism that other netizens will get for what they are doing.
Aiza replied, “Well, yes, we take it as it comes.
“And just me, just to be filled with love, of course our daughter now and our future child.
“There’s always a way of explaining the kids how to handle these things.
“When it comes to our daughter, she is stronger against bullying, she also knows not to hate the bully, to stand up for herself but not hate [others].”
