MANILA — While on stage last November 24, during the Hawaii leg of the “Dear Heart” North American tour, Gabby Concepcion gave Sharon Cuneta a ring.
Solid Sharon-Gabby fans captured the moment and cheered in fondness.
At the media junket of their successful Prime Video series “Saving Grace,” Cuneta explained that the ring was symbol of their friendship. Sources told ABS-CBN News that the ring was made of tungsten steel.
“Sabi niya it’s a friendship ring. That’s why I will hold him to this friendship,” said Cuneta. “And sana walang problema sa darating na projects kasi kung hindi sisirain ko ‘to!”
Plans for a 2025 Dear Heart tour is underway and there are talks that they might bring the show to Australia and some parts of the Middle East.
“I wasn’t sure that we would get along the whole time, but we did. We became closer, it’s amazing. It took us decades to get here it’s a blessing,” said Cuneta, agreeing that she and Concepcion have a renewed friendship.
Renewed and recharged from the concert tour, Cuneta is celebrating the success of ‘Saving Grace’ on Prime Video. On its second week, “Saving Grace” is the most watched TV series in the Philippines on Prime Video.
She plays the role of Miranda, a public service TV host, who would eventually tackle the complicated life of Grace and her family.
The Megastar had nothing but praises for the child star Zia Grace. The first few episodes already highlighted Zia’s acting chops and Cuneta would always remind Zia on how to handle fame.
“Wala kaming tigil nang pagpapa-alala sa kanya, kami nila Julia (Montes), na huwag kang mayabang ‘coz when this comes out, sisikat ka. So when people tell you ‘you’re beautiful’, ‘ang galing mo!’ say thank you. Feel good about it, pero huwag yayabang.”
Aside from her tour and series, Cuneta is also raving about the worldwide hit “Hello, Love, Again” of her showbiz godchildren Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards. She is obviously shipping the two.
“Parehong mabuting tao, parehong mabait, parehong mabuting anak. Mahal ko silang dalawa kung saan sila masaya, doon ako!” said Cuneta.
